doing alot of research concerning the vaccines and which ones were better and about aluminum and mercury levels and alternate vaccination schedules and the such. it turns out that our dr. had the low(er) aluminum vaccines, so we (i) decided to go with their schedule. i was, however, under the impression that they would not be given in 5 separate needles (turns out they were out of the combination shots). poor guy. he screamed (of course). c and i cried. i had to hold down his legs, while c held his little hands and kissed his head. they tag teamed him- 3 in one leg, 2 in the other. i had no idea that it would be that traumatic. i'm so sorry, little guy.
impending doom
the dr. said that he was a big boy and that he may not even experience any side effects. he weighed in at 14lbs 11oz, 24" long and head circumference of 15.5".

the clincher is that he was so happy before he got stuck...
and THEN we only had a way-too-small onesie packed (we couldn't put his jeans back on his little legs). wonderful.

Very cool. Peeper always gets nearly indecipherable cartoon characters on hers.

Poor little pudge! I feel for him. Just the thought of it makes me sad. I wish there was an easier way. On a positive...what a great weight!! Gotta love that boobie milk.
ReplyDeleteDid you get the oral rotavirus vaccine?? If not, how come??? Rotavirus is very very nasty. My cousins son (2 months older than Dillon) caught it in April and was in the hospital!!! (He never got the vaccine and his parents are both doctors...oversight on their part.)

ReplyDeletesharky... yes, he did receive the oral rotavirus. he seemed to actually enjoy it, so it wasn't traumatic (for me). aww, poor baby- how is your cousin's son now?
He is doing much better. Spent two days in the hospital for dehydration...was on an IV. He was pretty sick (vomit, diarrhea) for a very long time though. Something like 2 weeks! On the plus, his parents being doctors noticed that he needed to be in the hospital and were prompt to act.
