happy canadian anniversary :-)

two years ago today, c whisked me off to canada and made an honest woman out of me :-)

we had a lovely ceremony in niagara-on-the-lake in the secret garden of the 'angel ladies.' it was lovely and sweet and romantical...

then we walked around town and went to the butterfly conservatory and the aviary.

we couldn't find any wedding cake, or any kind of cake for that matter, so we split a wedding brownie at the butterfly conservatory cafe.

i consider myself so fortunate to have c as my lifetime hiking companion... my best friend... my always geocacher extraordiaire... the one who comforts me when i need comforted and allows me to cry when i need to... the one who accepts all of my imperfections as perfections... i love you, oogie...

these brownies are for you (us) ;-)

speaking of these brownies, they are an example of the reason that i don't bake. i figured i would portion control them by baking them in cuppy-cake tins... but i didn't want the mess, so i used the paper thingies. well, i allowed them to mostly cool before i tried to take them out of the paper thingies, and they were falling apart. i thought that maybe the fact that i used olive oil (the only oil we have- we don't even have substitutes such as applesauce and baby food) made them too moist, or that maybe they were not cool enough. so i frosted them in the paper thingies and popped 'em in the fridge lastnight. today, my brother had one, and the paper came off just fine... :-)
