this morning we had the first two-thirds of the finalization of my adoption. we went before the judge and just explained why i wanted to be rhys' legal parent. i knew that's all today was, but man, was i sweating bullets. c was way making fun of me. the whole thing took all of ten minutes. it would have taken less, but the judge (who was oogling rhys and not paying any mind to our attorney), exclaimed, "i just need to stop all of this... that baby is cute!" actually, i do believe that she did cartwheels and sang, 'could you be the most beautiful boy in the world?' but, i'm trying to tone things down here ;-) anywho, at that point, her clerk reached out to me and took rhys and was oogling him, as well. before i knew it, she dismissed us and said that she would see us on june 10th.
