last day

today was my last day of school until the fall :-) after room inspections and a staff meeting, our principal took us out to lunch.

going stir-crazy!!!

my colleagues and i were delirious with joy over the prospect of not having to go back to work for almost three whole months!!! we were psyched to have a grand time together... and then it happened... we got the mean waitress. she for real scowled at us the entire time. i have a pic to prove it, but i know that perhaps she was having an 'off' day, as do we all at one time or another, so i won't post it. but that doesn't mean that we didn't resort to having fun...




i asked our waitress which she would recommend, the eggplant parm sandwich or the asian pulled pork. she bluntly said the eggplant, so i ordered it. we were all being kind to her, and when she was pouring the champagne for our end-of-the-year toast, i noticed that it was an extra dry brut. so i playfully asked if i could have a spumonte instead. she very curtly barked back, 'absolutely not!' i was stunned, as was everyone at the table, but then we all just started to laugh... and it was on!

dessert was chocolate cake and mousse... so as she was passing it out, i asked if i could have vanilla. that would be a negative. so, i said, 'okay', and she promptly picked up my chocolate delicacy and gave it to my neighbor. DESSERT DENIED!!! after waiting a bit, it was clear that she had no intentions of serving me, so i got up and got my own dessert.

reactions to the rudeness

in actuality, we had a great time. perhaps we played a bit too much, but we were not rude, just silly. the food was great, the company wonderful, the weather beautiful and the memories of the past school year, priceless.
