lastnight c and i were playing with rhys and he started to get a little cranky. one of his favorite "words" is "arrr!" and he says it consistently... so i started pulling him in close and exclaiming, "a pirate says arrr!" and then i would kiss him. now the boy has been laughing for awhile now, but he was letting out for real belly laughs. we did a few rounds of this, when c pulled out her cell phone and attempted to record it- we didn't get the video (too dark), but we sure got the audio (the most important part!)

when i got up for work this morning, rhys was babbling to himself in his pack and play (i know, i know... c actually set up the monitor, so sleeping in his own room is in the very near future). i lifted him up to hand him over to c and i thought to myself, "self. this boy is feeling heavy today." i thought that maybe it was just because i was still so tired, but when i got home from school, he was still pretty heavy ;-)

tomorrow i have my final observation. delicious. so i had better head on off to dreamland...
