a rainy day at waldameer!!!

today was my family's work picnic at waldameer, therefore it was piece's first trip to the park. c and i had been hoping that the rain would taper off, because lets face it, baby + rain = not alot of fun (right now... but in the future mud puddles and dancing in the rain will be fun). finally, around 4-ish, we ventured on out with all of our gear in tow (stroller, umbrellas, diapers, mum-mums, cooler, ice, baby, clothes, etc.), and arrived at the park. we unloaded everything in the rain and strolled on in to search for the nearest awnings. we loitered by the games for a bit, visited with sharky and her sister (when did she grow up?!?!), and made our way to the picnic grove.

at this time, my aunt and c went to get dinner, while the boy and i stayed at the park. we ate and then decided that it would be a good idea to ride rides on full tummies in the rain. well, actually, we got c to go on the sea dragon and the ravine flyer 2. lol, let's just say that her kfc was doing little dances in her tummy.

***side note: i am now having visions of the green character on 'yo gabba gabba' singing, 'there's a party in my tummy! yummy, yummy! a party in my tummy!'***

we played a few games, took the boy on the merry-go-round, and, around 8:30, called it a night. we already knew that pieces was going to mess with us because we messed with his schedule... he still had to eat (the bit of my yogurt parfait and mum-mums do not count as dinner) and we knew how tired he was... sooo, sass bought him a hat, and home we went!

it was a fun evening, despite the rain :-)

  1. It was great seeing you guys! The little sapling was just a pleasure...of course he reminded us of a little baby bird sitting there with his mouth open waiting so patiently for us to pop something in there!

Glad you had fun despite the weather...isn't the RFII awesome?!
