the other day we made the switch from the boy's infant seat to his big boy car seat. c spent a few hours out in the hot hot sun securing them in their respective places in our vehicles. we found out that yesterday there was a safety seat inspection going on, so we went just to make sure that they were properly secured and such.
lady #1 told us that they were in tight and secure and that a stellar job was done putting them in. because she could not find the manufacture number, she ended up taking the thing out, only to find out that it was on the back behind the headrest... and then pink lady enters the picture...
c and lady #1 were searching for the number and climbing in the car seat to get in back in tight... pink lady decided that we should not use the LATCH system, but rather just the belt, so they had to figure out how to do that... in the for real heat...
poor c's asthma started acting up and she was in her work clothes, but she was a trooper! sweating and allowing the very sweaty crotches of two strangers to be forced upon her head (don't ask) was more than many would tolerate, but she kept plugging along. poor thing, she was so hot that she drank pieces' pear juice/water cocktail... and he took it away from her, lol.
after about 2 hours, we were finally on our merry way!
Why didn't they want you to use the LATCH system?
ReplyDeleteApparently our cars weren't meant for our carseat, the base is wider than the latch system, the latches are supposed to connect straight ahead. PAIN IN THE BUTT!
