it didn't rain on our parade!

good morning!

let's go to niagara falls!!!

today c took the boy and me to niagara falls to celebrate my birthday. even though it rained, nothing could dampen our spirits! the drive to n.f. was uneventful- nay a drop of rain at all! c found a FREE parking spot, and as soon as we pulled in, the rain began. we decided to feed the boy and see if it would stop, but alas, it did not. soooo, we decided to brave the elements and peruse the souvenir shops first.

all of the chat skies were tacky and overpriced, but it kept us dry. finally, we decided that we were going to get soaked on the maid of the mist anyway, so we bit the bullet and walked across the street to the ticket booth, purchased our tickets, donned our blue rain ponchos and readied ourselves for the ride! c was pretty nervous, but soon she began to enjoy herself. the boy slept the entire time. when the ride was over, we took a few photos, purchased the boy a maid of the mist onesie and headed back to the car.

on our way back, an asian family of mostly women hopelessly oogled over the boy. they cooed at him and laughed at him and then started taking pictures of him. next thing we knew, they were taking pictures with him. we smiled and just shrugged it off... we figure that the boy resembles a buddha, and perhaps they think that if they rubbed his belly he would bring them good luck :-)

after our falls experience, we were off to c's favorite bakery- dicamillo's. they have a mini version of her favorite cassata cake and she gets it every time we are near buffalo. she loves this cake so much that she opens the box and digs in as we are walking to the car. a few times ago, as she was walking to the car, she ran smack into a pole. hard.
