celebration!!!

even thought yesterday was my actual birthday, my darling c made sure that we celebrated all weekend long with my favorite things. she took friday off of work and we went to niagara falls. even though it rained, we had such a grand time!

yesterday, on my birthday morning, c allowed me to sleep in. it was very delicious!!! she spent the morning making my favorite homemade carrot cake from scratch. when i finally sauntered downstairs, she made me brunch (it would have been breakfast, but it was a smidge past breakfast time). we spent the day lounging around, and the boy experienced pears for the first time. of course he loved them!

we decided to go out to dinner, and as we were getting ready, the garage called and told me that my car was ready to be picked up. my inspection was due, and it ended up costing me $650. i was mad because he told me that if i paid in cash he would "waive" the taxes. i told him that the banks were closed and that only a certain amount could be taken out of the atm each day. he asked that i take out as much as i could and pay the rest with a check. he then concluded with the fact that if i wanted the fuse that i requested to be changed, changed, then i would have to stop at an auto store and pick the fuse up. fine. so we went to the auto store, and as i was inside getting said fuse, garage guy called back to see when i would be there. c said that we would be there in like 5 minutes. so, when we arrive, he was waiting outside for me, took the fuse, popped it in, took the money, went inside, shadily looked out the window, popped the check into his pocket, looked out the window again and asked if that was all i could get out of the atm. what the heck?!?! i told him yes, he gave me the paperwork and that was that. i tried to figure out what exactly cost me $650, but i couldn't figure it out. then, as i was going to get into my car, c asked me to try the cell phone charger (the one that we suspected blew the fuse in the first place)... so i did. and it blew the fuse again. nice.

anywho, we went to dinner with our friend, tim. i had lobster (finally)... then tim and i went to the casino... then home, where we ate carrot cake and opened presents. it was quite a delightful birthday!

today we went to get the boy art supplies... my plan is to have him start to express himself through different types of media. we call him mr. piece, and i think that it is endearing that his creations will be "mister peaces." (peace because of the pure love and joy that he exudes)
