preparations

i can't believe that we are under the 20 day mark (that is, if he decides to come around his due date). we are so excited and nervous. we have been checking and double-checking to make sure that we have everything in place for his arrival. i finally packed my clothes. the car seat is sitting here ready to go. the past few weeks seemed to have flown by. now we are at a stand still. these last weeks are going by sooo s...l...o...w...l...y. but i guess that we should look at it as our last moments of quiet solitude... well, with the exception of pennywenny's constant barking.

i dropped off the check to the lawyer today. fun times. we are still waiting for the social worker to hand off our home study information to said lawyer. he is taking his sweet time... does he not realize that there will be a baby here soon??? however, the good thing is that he realized the strife he has caused us and shredded our check. yes, he caused a great deal of worry, but we still think that we should pay him something. well, that is if he ever decides to forward our stuff to the lawyer. i would really not enjoy having to contact the only other social worker in our area who is certified to complete adoption home studies and start that whole process all over. i shudder at the thought and send out vibes that our guy will pull through (are you listening, universe?).

to end on a happy note, pretty soon, not only will we be cuddling each other, we soon will be cuddling that sweet bamboozle :-)
