moving forward

last week was quite stressful; heed our warning and, if possible, do NOT try and buy and sell a house simultaneously. it's a recipe for sleepless nights, crankiness and uncertainty. so not delicious. we thought that we may have to carry two mortgages for a bit of time, but...

this morning we received the call that we have been hoping for... both closings are scheduled for friday! hooray! we sold our house and found a house that we both absolutely adore. it has a big yard with a pool and a treehouse, still 4 bedrooms and 2 baths like we have grown accustomed to, in a fabulous neighborhood. we are sooo excited. tonight we went and bought our new appliances (our appliances were written into the contract for the sale of our old house and our new house only came w/the dishwasher). we researched ranges and refrigerators, and came up with these:

we decided with stainless look after having stainless appliances at our old house... they are nearly impossible to keep streak-free with just us, let alone a child. i am not pleased that we got an electric range, but i am not keen on cracking open the floor just to reveal the gas line for a gas stove. so i tried to make the best of it. i really did try. and i figure that i aways have my outdoor grill :-)

since our pods cannot be delivered on good friday, we will use the weekend to take down the wallpaper in the kitchen and paint, remove the carpeting in the downstairs bedroom and paint that, as well. busy, busy, but excitedly so :-)
