constipation, cole slaw and the zoo

rhys has not had a bm since around tuesday. poor guy. he was really only fussy on thursday, and then he was really fussy. like not messing around fussy. i suggested to c that maybe she drink a prune & grape juice mocktail, but she thought that an egg roll sounded more appetizing... and then we remembered... kfc cole slaw! i ran out around 9-ish lastnight and picked her up some of the magical concoction. at 4:30 a.m., we were awakened to the sound of one happy kid making a stinky! and what a stinky it was! this may be a bit tmi, but the kid for real zenned out. his eyes glazed over and he did what he had to do, and he did ALOT of it... a few days worth! we cheered him on, cleaned him up and went back to bed.

this morning we embarked on our first daytrip with rhys. we packed the car (wow!), packed the kid and off we went. we arrived at the cleveland zoo around 12:30-ish, c nursed rhys in the car, we slathered him with sunscreen and off we went. whew was it ever HOT! we visited about 2/3 of the zoo and decided to call it a day. much of the zoo seemed to be under construction, but we did get to oogle the polar, grizzly and black bears, giraffes, leopards, seals and the such. unfortunately we did not get a chance to visit the rainforest, so we will save that for our next c'land zoo trip. the kid for real slept the entire time. we had both canopies over him, as well as a blanket to shield him from the wicked hot sun. we did not take him out for photo ops because we didn't want his sweet skin to sizzle. we paid a visit to the gift shop, purchased him a t-shirt and an animal projector, then went to crocker park to shop.

it was much more tolerable shopping. we only went to gymboree, baby gap and trader joe's, but that was more than enough fun for one day. we had yummilicious sushi for dinner and bon-bons for dessert (in reverse order). the kid was a trooper all day long! thank goodness because we have a north carolina trip coming up next month :-)
