thanksgiving break...

i can't believe that thanksgiving break is coming to a close. in my mind, i had lists of things to get done: christmas shopping and wrapping, decorating, oil change and clean out my car, holiday pics and cards done and house cleaned. well, i shopped. and i got my oil changed. and we decorated (more decorations to come, however).

even though i didn't fulfill my break wish list, we did have lots of fun! c and i went black friday shopping... for 7 straight hours. we got home around 5 a.m., and c took the first sleeping shift. the kids got up around 6:45-ish, and i gotta admit, i was whooped. i was so happy when 10 a.m. came; i sent rhys up to wake up mommy, i made the girls' bottles for the day, and then i promptly headed up the golden staircase.

on our shopping extravaganza, we bought a new treadmill (not a beautiful, shiny 51" hdtv), a dyson (christmas gift from my aunt), an xbox/kinect (who could say no to such a deal? obviously not us, and c is super pumped), a new knife set (another christmas gift from my aunt), a digital camera for the nicu (theirs broke), a digital camera for us (ours broke), some odds and ends for rhys, and about 16 cases of diapers and 12 cases of wipes for the girls. like i said, we shopped.

yesterday, we went to the festival of the trees. the theme was 'miracles happen', and proceeds benefit the children's miracle network at st. v's (where our miracle girls were in the nicu). it was really lovely- the trees were amazing, santa's castle was adorable, rhys and mommy rode the grinch express and we got to visit with a couple of santa's reindeer.

lync and quinn loved looking at all of the lights. rhys, santa's number one fan, didn't want anything to do with him. the reason? a tiny train chugging along under a christmas tree had the boy's attention. he even preferred the train over the reindeer and maybe even the grinch express.

... and the countdown until christmas vacation begins...
