on saturday, we took the chicken to zoo boo. i was so excited about his costume- he went as dj lance rock from yo gabba gabba. c tried to tell me that nobody would know who he was supposed to be, but i disagreed. after all, IT'S YO GABBA GABBA, people! every single little kid i know knows of ygg, even if they don't watch it... which would mean that parents should know of dj lance and the gabba gang.
wrong.
as we were tricks-or-treating around the zoo, we overheard a man exclaiming (about chicken), "oh look at that little boy! he's dressed up as a candy corn!" candy corn? Candy Corn? CANDY CORN?!?! WHO CALLS DJ LANCE CHICKEN ROCK A CANDY CORN?!?!
candy corn
the real dj lance rock

dj lance chicken rock
and, to add insult to injury, today c's mom called while we were on our way home from work. she apologized, but agreed with the candy corn statement... :-( my heart was broken.
i had a momentary lapse in judgement and told c to head straight to toys 'r us for halloween costume 2010 part 2. but then i remembered how giddy chicken was when we put his costume on him and held him up in front of the mirror. perhaps chicken's job this halloween is to spread the love and cheer and educate people about the joy of dj lance rock.

halloween is AWESOME!!!
We don't watch Yo Gabba Gabba, so I have no idea who that guy is, but I don't think he looks like a candy corn.
ReplyDeleteThe little sapling should be what makes him happy for Halloween even if it is a big old candy corn (tee hee...just kidding). Halloween is fun! Who cares if someone doesn't know what/who he is? I seem to remember going trick or treating with friends when we seniors in high school...we didn't care if people thought we were too old. We were just having fun!
