the first thing that chicken encountered was the pit o'pumpkins. he LOVED them! he loved crawling over them and he loved trying to pick them up and he loved drumming on them. as we tried to usher him over to the corn pit, he let us know that he was not pleased at all by emitting a very shrill scream. however, once he got to the corn pit, and once he got accustomed to it, he enjoyed himself. of course, the displeasure once again ensued as we took him to the next stop...

... the GIANT pumpkins! he liked climbing on them for a minute, and then it was off to the sheep and the goats. as he approached the sheep, he promptly uttered, "sheep! baaa!"

when we took him to the sliding hills, he was thrilled. he would slide down, get up and take off back up the hill... many, Many MANY times. when we finally took him over to the climbing haystacks, he very much longed to go back to the slides. but he was a trooper, and walked along the haystacks for a bit.

it was getting late, so we decided to go and stand in line for the hayride... and what a line it was! to keep the chicken occupied, c went and got him a snickity snack, and we took turns walking him around until it was our turn to ride. he didn't seem especially taken with the hayride... i guess he was still longing for his beloved pumpkins and slides... so, before we left, we let him pick out a pumpkin... and then all was right in his world- especially when we picked up 'zizza' for dinner :-)

as for fall fest at the peak... there's next weekend ;-)
