c had me hold the side of the crib together as she screwed it onto the headboard. i nonchalantly asked about a few holes in the top of the headboard, and she said that they were supposed to be there and that some decorative piece went there. i was afraid to press the issue, but i couldn't imagine what would go there... she dismissed me again, and i went back to my chores. after another set of spewed words and dropped tools, i was called to my lovely's side again.
this time we put the mattress holder on. i screwed the thing in and i again asked if if she was sure about the headboard. it seems as though i was right- it was backwards. c was done. she had been working hard on this thing for about two hours, and it had to be taken apart and reassembled. i had her sit on the glider as i disassembled and reassembled the crib. we put the last piece on together, situated it into place, and breathed a sigh of relief.
after a quick pizza dinner, it was time to carve chicken's pumpkin! we readied the area, undressed the chicken, and got to work. c took off the top and cleaned the pumpkin out. chicken wanted nothing to do with it... until he realized that a hollow pumpkin makes a way cool sound when used as a drum!
