this is my first attempt at blogging. well, actually second, if you count myspace. my partner, c, and i are expecting our first child next month, and this blog is kind of a way for us to document our journey into mommyhood, and everything in between.
c and i have spent the past 3.5 years together, dreaming of this chapter in our lives, and, after 2 weddings (one canadian, one in front of family and friends), we began our ttc journey. the universe blessed us tremendously- we conceived during our first try... and here we are 8 months later, waiting for our precious bundle to arrive.
a little about us... i am a kindergarten teacher in an urban school. c works for a non-profit as a writer and resource person. we both love our jobs, but must admit that we are pretty psyched about having time off to spend with bamboozle. we have 3 dogs- pennywenny (cockapoo), joey begonia (english springer spaniel) and mattie mae (cockapoo).
not only are we excited about bamboozle's arrival, but we are also simultaneously trying to sell our house and buy a new one. we would definitely not recommend this combination. i'm a bit sad that, although we have all of bamboozle's nursery furniture and such, it really is pointless to assemble the nursery, since he will be sleeping in our bedroom for the first few months, and hopefully, we will have a new home by then (fingers crossed).
c is carrying bamboozle. we have both always wanted children, but it has never been my dream to actually give birth. c, on the other hand, has always wanted to carry. so here we are :-) i am legally adopting bamboozle. we have jumped through a few of the hoops (home study done- finally! that's a story for another time), and are waiting for our lawyer to advise us about the next steps.
bamboozle, by the way, is a boy. a sweet, beautiful little boy. we are so over the moon in love with him.
we can't wait to welcome him into the world :-)
