we have been trying to figure out ways to make life easier for when r does decide to show up. we have put together his swing and pack n'plays. we have laundered and put his clothes away. we are taking inventory of what needs batteries and the sizes. c is studying how to use her breast pump. in the next few weeks, we will sterilize bottles and reorganize things a few more times, i am sure. and yesterday, c had a grand idea... that we should make a bunch of healthy meals and freeze them so that meal preparations will be more or less hassle free. so that is what we did. lastnight, we made a few lasagnas and tuna noodle casserole. today we made chili and chicken/broccoli/bulgur wheat casserole. last weekend, we took a road trip to cleveland to go to trader joe's to stock up on our favorite quick meal ideas- mandarin orange chicken, chile lime chicken burgers, veggie marsala patties, turkey meatballs and a bunch of frozen veggies. oh yes, friends, we shall be eating well. if you get a chance, stop on by :-)
on a similar, yet different note, man did we get some snow! well, i have always been anti-snowblower... i mean, i figure by the time i would trudge to the garage and get the thing started, i could be almost done shoveling a pretty little path and starting on the dreaded driveway. let me tell you, mine eyes have seen the glory of the amazing invention that is the snowblower. i finally agreed to use it yesterday, and i tell ya- it was pretty magnificent! i did the WHOLE driveway and the walkways and it took less time than if i would have done my puny little path and broke my back doing the driveway. i am now and forevermore a believer in all that is a snowblower. i may even get a t-shirt that expresses my newfound love. maybe not.
