out with the old, in with the... old...

after dinner this evening, c and quinn went on a little shopping extravaganza. okay, not really an extravaganza, more of a... jaunt. c had to pick up a few delicacies for her office's taco wednesday kiki, and she wanted to peruse a store without the trio causing a straight up ruckus. so I stayed home with the boy child and lync, as she and quinnie painted the town any color but white (well played, mother nature... well played).

when they finally got home, quinn presented me with a bouquet of daises... "do you love your flowers, mama? they're beautiful, just like me, don't ya think?" she then excitedly began chattering about the new boots that mommy got her tonight. cue lyncoln's questions... "did I get new boots, too, mommy? where are my new boots?" the thing is, lync has had these awful pink cowgirl boots and quinn has desperately been wanting a pair. c broke the news to lync that she already had boots and didn't need another pair... cue lync's sweet little face dropping and tears welling up in her pretty little eyes... thank goodness c thought quickly... after giving quinn her new boots, she called lu out and presented her her old boots in the new box. "oh my! they are just perfect! they are like twins to my old boots!" the kid didn't get that they actually were her old boots! she immediately put them on and pranced around declaring how gorgeous she was.

 

now I just have to figure out a way to get them to NOT wear these things to school for their spring pictures tomorrow...
