under the hood, she was given no stimulation/help in breathing. because her lungs are so 'crappy', she really had to give her all to breathe on her own. but. she. did. it. the nurses had a tough time regulating the temperature in her isolette, so her body temperature would soar, thus making her pant and have to breathe harder, thus making her heart rate go above 210 (220 sometimes).
when i went to 'tuck' the girls in lastnight, the nurse made a call to the dr. and requested that lyncoln be put back on the cannula. he gave her the 'ok', but, since lyncoln's temp. came down, she was going to wait.
apparently, around midnight, they switched her back over to the cannula, and she is doing well.
now, the indended reason for this post is this: while c and i were at the hospital after work yesterday, lyncoln was taken out of her isolette to be weighed and her bedding changed. she was out for a bit longer, because she decided to give her nurse an extra special blowout present ;-) anywho, while she was lying on the scale, c was standing to her left, and i was standing above her head. whenever we would quietly call her name, she would turn her head to whomever was talking to her and open her eyes. she did this a few times, and then it was time for her to go back into her isolette.
i will remember that moment always. i believe that it was lyncoln's way of letting her mamas know that she is fine and that she knows exactly what she is doing...
