our first stop was the zoo. despite the heat, it was sooo much fun. our original plan was to visit half the zoo, but, because of our misreading of the map, we ended up touring the entire zoo... but it was so okay, because it truly was a great day! we loved how close to the animals we were and that replicating their natural habitat seemed to be paramount. our favorites were the polar bears (that underwater view is simply grand!!!) and the elephants. we got the boy a few zoo board books and some jammies, then it was off to our next adventure... one that we have been anticipating...
joe's crab shack!!! yes, people, it was well worth the wait! rhys LOVED the place. he laughed and babbled the whole time. even though he had peas and mum-mums, the ambiance was not lost on him. he was mesmerised when the staff did the car wash dance. he also flirted relentlessly with one of the waitresses... that's our boy ;-)
after dinner, we realized that trader joe's was not in the cards for us, nor were the tanger outlets (lack of time), so we scored the boy a hiker backpack and some jammies, then we headed home... but not before visiting the grove city outlets, where we beefed up his fall wardrobe and bought him some new jammies, as well as some goodies for his mommies.
it was such a wonderful day :-)

Wow! With the amount of jammies that were purchased it makes me wonder...was this boy sleeping naked before?
