happy spring!

tonight, as spring officially tiptoed in, our sweet girls' names were whispered into the universe, reminding us (as if we need a reminder), that miracles do, indeed, happen.

we thought that having their naming ceremony today was quite apropos, because, as spring brings about the promise of renewal and growth, lyncoln and quinn's journey has been all about the promise and miracle of the undeniable human spirit... from their fierce fight to be with us, to the outpouring of prayers, hope, love and well-wishes, it. has. been. quite. a. journey. and through all of this, they are a glimmer of what is to be... just like the sprouting of beautiful and vibrant flowers are beginning to pop up and let us know that sunnier days are ahead, lyncoln and quinn's spirit is lighting the way for an amazing adventure here with us... and this is only the beginning :-)

we were blessed to have shared this day with two of their 'fairy' parents (we are spiritual, rather than religious, so we put our own spin on things), julie and kristin, and their darlings, lily and matty. rev. jane officiated, while her hubby, bubba, snapped some photos :-) it was sweet and touching and the love in the room was overwhelming... in an amazing way.

for lyncoln's dedication flower, we chose a yellow gerbera daisy, which represents cheerfulness... for we hope that our wee one will know nothing but cheer and love and happiness, always.

for quinn's dedication flower, we chose a yellow tulip, which symbolizes, 'there is sunshine in your smile'... because when this kid smiles, she lights up every single cell in your very being... and we want her to aways have a reason to smile... and to always know the profound impact that a simple gesture has on others.

to conclude the ceremony, julie and kristin poured sand, that is representative of their (our) journey into our sand vase. we have sand in their from our commitment ceremony and rhys' naming ceremony, which, incidentally, was held on the spring equinox in 2010 :-) his flower is the sunflower- kinda ironic that all three kiddos have a yellow flower :-)

as i write this entry, i have a sweet quinnie resting on my chest, and i am in awe of how the power of unconditional love can affect us. i feel her breathe and i hear her heartbeat and i see her smile every once in awhile... and i know that i am blessed.
