2 weeks old

on christmas day, the girls turned 2 weeks old. they are doing well tolerating their feedings and are beginning to put on weight.
at birth, lyncoln weighed 1lb7oz. on her 2-week birthday, she weighed in at 1lb12oz :-)
at birth, quinn weighed 1lb15oz. on christmas, she weighed 2lbs1oz :-)
lyncoln is still on the ventilator, and there is consideration of beginning her on a low dose steroid next week. we believe that she didn't benefit from the steroid administered to c before birth due to her cord being compromised... so, we have a decision to make- allow her to stay on the ventilator and have the o2 and support increased gradually, thus compromising her lung tissue and brain development (along with a bunch of other complications), or start her on the steroids (which have their own set of complications- but the positive seem to outweigh the negatives if administered correctly) and get her off the ventilator and onto the cpap. we are choosing the steroids, but hoping that her sat levels increase on their own within the next few days. other than that, she is looking fantastic! her weight gain is wonderful, her brain is looking terrific, as is her heart. she certainly is a trooper!
quinn is on the cpap and is doing well. her brain looks great, but there is a small pda issue with her heart. the dr.'s seem to believe that it will fix itself, and they are keeping a close eye on it.
these girls are such fighters. their unique personalities are already emerging- lyncoln is tiny, but fiesty. she keeps everyone on their toes, and is a mover and shaker. quinn, on the other hand, is pretty laid back and is content just relaxing with her arms stretched over her head. they are both darling and sweet.
we continue to ask for any prayers, wishes, universe shout outs, healthy baby mojo, etc. whatever you believe, we will accept for our girls :-)
