boy, we have been lucking out when it comes to our fall festivities! yesterday, not a lot of people were are pumpkintown, and today the pumpkin farm was just as sparse.
i was a little apprehensive about taking the gang before naptime, but they were champs! rhys and quinnie took a little siesta on the way out to the pumpkin farm, but lu? lu fought the nap.
on the way to the farm, we passed by an apple orchard. we had wanted to go apple picking, but there was an early frost that froze the crops, so we settled for buying some apples from the orchard already picked. poor rhys... he's going to grow up thinking that going fruit/veggie picking means going to farmer's markets and roadside stands.
when we finally got to the pumpkin farm, the kids were so excited! they played on the haystacks, climbed on the tires, played in the cornpit, slid down the slides and picked out some pumpkins. by the time it was time for the hayride, we were pretty whooped, so we tempted the troops with hot dogs and ice cream.
gosh, i wish every day was saturday!
