ahhh... fall is here. and with my most favorite season comes a plethora of pumpkin and apple delicacies, crisp air, snuggly-wuggly clothes and autumn happenings. yesterday, we took the crew to the first fall-themed event of the season: pumpkintown.
after work, c picked the kidlets up and we hurried and tried to feed them dinner. i say "tried", because obviously the low setting on our programmable crock pot is quite deceitful in it's temperature range. the recipe called for 5.5-6 hours on low. we programmed it for 5 hours on low, and yet it was still too long. the result? our young charges boycotted the what-was-supposed-to-be-yummy chicken stroganoff. they ate their veggie squeezees, but obviously needed something more. so, plan b was a plain burger from a fast food joint. rhys and quinn happily began chomping down on the dinner substitute, but lyncoln? lyncoln refused it. adamantly. so, we ran through the taco bell drive thru to get her a cheese roll up, which she promptly demolished.
as the kids were finishing up their gourmet meals, we pulled into pumpkintown. quinnie immediately began shouting, "pump-pu! pump-pu!" she was SO excited. rhys had his sights set on the giant pumpkin slide. and lu? lu wanted a cookie.
as we strolled through pumpkintown, all three kids were mesmerized by different things. rhys couldn't get to the bouncy fun-things fast enough. quinn loved ALL of the pumpkins and tried to carry more than her little hands possibly could. and lu loved the pumpkin cookies.
after we paid for our goods, and loaded the tots back into the van, quinnie, ever-so-sweetly, exclaimed, "buh-bye, pump-pu! buh-bye!"
we had such a lovely time.
