the girls had cake for the first time yesterday (a few crumbs) and LOVED it! quinnie was like a panting little puppy until i would give her more, and lynci wanted to be miss independent and feed herself. tonight, they had a taste of gingerbread cake... and, it's no surprise that they loved it, as well as the chocolate yesterday!
when rhys woke up this morning, he came downstairs and began looking for tick tock the elf. he found that sneaky little elf hiding in our christmas tree. i wonder where tick tock will be hiding tomorrow?
this evening, we began the advent calendar. rhys found the number 1 and put the little candy cane in the pocket.
i can't believe that in 10 days our girls will be ONE!!! we will have 1 two year old and 2 one year olds. i am so excited :-)
and, on a serious note...
as you may (or may not) know, lyncoln and quinn suffered from twin to twin transfusion syndrome (ttts). ttts is a horrible disease of the placenta. they shared a placenta, which contained abnormal blood vessels, which connected the umbilical cord and circulations of the girls. their common placenta was also shared unequally- lync had a small scraggly portion and quinn had a large healthy portion. we are beyond incredibly lucky. there is a significant mortality rate for one or both twins when ttts occurs. we got to bring home both of our beautiful girls...
december is ttts awareness month. december 7th is world ttts awareness day. we will be holding all of our ttts babies up in love and light...
