whirlwind weekend!!!

what a great weekend we had! c's family came up to visit from nc, we had brunch with some new friends and chicken had his 9-month photos taken, along with a picture with santa, himself!

while moo-moo and papa were here, they took rhys to his first hibachi restaurant. he was mesmerized by the fire and fish.

watch out, rhys, so that your hair doesn't catch on fire!!! oh yeah, you don't have any hair!!!

rhys really enjoyed playing with, and screaming for, aunt cassie, uncle ryan, moo-moo and papa :-)

on sunday, we had brunch at our new friend's house. the food was amazing (scrambled eggs, sausage, turkey bacon, potatoes. bagels, fruit salad, french toast bake, oj, tea) and the company was splendid!!! rhys got to play with his new pals matty and lily, and mama c and i got to know our new pals, julie and kristin a bit more (lovely story, ladies!).

after brunch, we took rhys to get his 9-month photos done. there were a few good shots, but we were kind of rushed through, and we weren't really pleased with the whole experience this time around. if we are following a pattern, it would go something like 3 months = bad, 6 months = spectacular, 9 months = bad, 1 year = spectacular. sooo, his 1 year (!!!) photos will rock :-)

we figured that the mall closed at 8, but our photographer told us they closed at 6, so we would have to wait to see our photos and pick them out. so, we decided to pay a visit to baby gap, but was sidelined by santa. of course we plopped the kid on old st. nick's lap. they took about 12 pics, but we fell in love with the 1st one... it reminds us of a norman rockwell-esque type of picture, or maybe something from "the christmas story."

rhys went down pretty easily lastnight, but decided that he wanted to join us around 3. we snuggled for a bit and when i checked the time, it was 4:45 a.m. i made a mental note that i had about an hour and a half before i had to get up for work. i went back to chicken cuddling and dozed off. when i "woke up", it seemed brighter than usual. i looked at the clock- 7:10 a.m. i have to be to work at 7:30, and it takes at least 15-20 minutes to get to work. i jumped up, asked c if she had the chicken, stormed downstairs, washed my face and teeth, ran my fingers through my hair, threw some deodorant and clothes on, realized that i had a black bra on underneath my yellow polo, changed shirts and sprinted to my car. i pulled in at exactly 7:30. i am soooo glad that i only have 2 more days until thanksgiving break, even though tomorrow i have parent/teacher conferences from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. yuck. but wednesday i only have to work until 10, so it's a good trade-off.

  1. The photo-taking experience might not have been so fun, but the pictures are great.

    What a little cutie!
