getting into the holiday swing!

it's no secret that, if permitted, I would keep the house decorated all year long. to say that the holidays are my favorite time o'year would be an understatement. c, on the other hand, not so much. HOWEVER, because her big work event falls around thanksgiving, she succumbs to decorating now (we used to decorate on thanksgiving, sprinkling the final touches into the weekend).

last thursday, after school/work, we got pizza takeout, and then got to work. we started slowly- dusting and taking things off of shelves. c had the audacity to question whether or not we should put away our fall/thanksgiving decorations. how could this even be a possibility?!?! thanksgiving isn't even here yet... so we smooshed the holiday décor together. c calls it tacky. I call it wonderful!

Friday morning the kids were ready to decorate some more, but school beckoned...

after school, however, we paid the big guy a little visit!

yesterday was one of the funnest days I have had in awhile. c made hazelnut chocolate chip muffins for breakfast, and then we went to claytopia to create our annual holiday platter. afterwards, we went Christmas shopping, lunched, and then went to see 'trolls'. other than the occasional kid meltdown, it was a fantabulous day! we even ran into cousin cait at claytopia!

how this child got paint on her mouth... the world may never know.

we are going to have to figure something out for next year- their little feets aren't so little anymore!

our family tile is hung in the new store!
my Christmas cards are ready to be mailed, the trees still need to be put up, my thanksgiving menu is planned, gifts need to be wrapped... so much to do! better crank up my Christmas jams and get to jingle jangling!!!

  1. The leg lamp from Christmas story for the win!!! Love the mouse plate, must do that with the littles!

The mashup of decor is actually cute, throw in some New Year's Eve stuff and you are solid for almost 2 months, hahaha!
