i'm not alone in my heat aversion. c isn't fond of warm weather, nor are our kids. they get it honestly, i guess. yesterday and today have been exceptionally hot. and what did we do? spent it outside. i have no idea what we were thinking. c got out of work early yesterday, so we took a mini jaunt to the italian fisherman to feast on their delicious italian nachos goodness. we had it all planned out- we know that the inside is barely air conditioned, but it's better than the heat on the patio. so, we skip on into the restaurant, ask to be seated inside, and are slapped in the face with the news that they weren't serving indoors, and that we had our choice of the uptairs deck or the downstairs patio. "but it's hot outside!" we cried. all to no avail. we sat upstairs, under a canapy, under a fan, and sweated. after we were finished lunching, we made record time getting back to our car to the lucious air conditioning that awaited us. the olympic runners had nothing on us!
to ease the heat a bit for the cherubs, we set up the sprinkler. lyncoln had a grand ol' time. rhys took a bit to get used to it, but once he did, he was a master flower waterer :) and quinnie chose to waddle around and gather things.

today was a scorcher. a scorcher, i tell ya! and where did we spend it? no, not in the air conditioned haven of our home sweet home, but at waldameer. the kids loved it... until they didn't love it anymore. thank goodness rhys had the wisdom to say, "let's go home so that we can go to bed." it was fun because this year the girls could actually ride the kiddie land rides. with the exception of my faux pas of putting quinnie on the frogger, and c's mishap of dropping our boy out of the teacups, everyone seemed to have a heat-filled good time :)
