friday was his birthday, so c surprised him with pannycakes in the shape of the number 3 for breakfast. he was thrilled (and so were his sisters). for lunch, we had pizza delivered to his class and c also sent in mini chocolate cuppycakes. he was one happy boy!

we decided to have a small-ish get together with friends for dinner at chuck e. cheese. we were all looking forward to it, until i got the call. around 11:30 a.m., daycare called and told me that lync had a 102.4 temp. oh no. so, i told hr that i needed a sub asap so that i could go and fetch the little hot head. almost 2 hours later, i got a sub, had to drive all the way across town to get my car (i had c's car because it wouldn't start on thurs., which was c's first day at her new job, and we were nervous it wouldn't start again, so i tool her car because i didn't have to make any stops and it would be easier for me to get a ride to work or home, and her bases were out of her car because my aunt had to take the kids to daycare. longest. run on. sentence. ever.). i had initially planned on just picking all three kids up, but then i saw lync and took her right to the er.
we got signed in, a urine bag was placed on her, x-rays were taken, bloodwork was drawn, and it turned out that she had the onset of pneumonia :( now i had to wait and see if she was going to be admitted or sent home. because her white blood cell count was good, they gave her an antibiotic and sent us on our way. five hours later. ugh.

it was breaking my heart that i was missing rhys' party. since it was almost over, c told me to just come there to see him blow out his candles and then we would leave. so i did. around about this time, the weather had turned blustery. and i ran out of gas. ugh again. i did, however, coast into the gas station just in time.

when we arrived at cec, i barely even saw rhys. he was like a cyclone running around having fun. he got to do a little jig with the big cheese, er, mouse, himself, ate some pizza, blew out his candles, ate some cake, opened some gifts, and we were on our way. he had such a fun time :-)

on saturday, we hosted a little get together with my mom and aunts. on the menu was, what else, but pizza and cake. there was enough pizza that we had it for lunch and dinner. ugh.
sunday was c's dad's birthday, so we met him at the peak so that him and rhys could get a little skiing in. we packed a picnic lunch and cake, and had a really nice little time. when we came home we had a dinner of... pizza.

today, pizza was in every one's lunch, and i am pleased to say that the pizza is just about gone.
now that things have settled down a bit, it's hard to believe that our sweet toddler is not a toddler anymore. he's a big little boy.
Look at your angels - they are precious!!! you are so blessed.
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to say thank you for the comment on my blog - turns out our Lachlan had the same issue as your boy! A cold that manifested itself as a limp! Thanks for the encouragement :)
