bananas!

c and rhys have been in nc since sunday morning, leaving me with the girls. alone. by myself. outnumbered. and believe me, two 1-year-olds are scary!

quinnie was initially supposed to go with them, but she came down with a cold, and being rsv season, we didn't trust lynci's lungs, so home they stayed with me.

they have actually been pretty good. except for bedtime. the girls are usually in bed by 7:30, but these past few evenings, they have been begging to go to bed between 6 and 6:30. so, around 6:30, i clean them up, change their clothes, give them a breathing treatment, and then give them their evening bottles. last night was HARD. they were both beside themselves crying and clinging to me. tonight, i thought i'd outsmart them, and, while i fed and cuddled lync, i gave quinn a cup of cheerios. it worked. she snacked on the cheerios, but she was being quiet... too quiet. so, i looked to see what she was up to...

she was snacking. not on cheerios, but on a chunk of banana from dinner that had somehow wound up on the floor and i hadn't noticed. 'oh well', i thought. but then i realized that it was all smushed into the carpet. and wiped on the clothes that she was to wear tomorrow. sweet mother of pearl.

so, i cleaned the kid up, smooched both of them up, and took them to their beds. before 7 p.m. ahhhhhhhhhh...

in other news, the girls are doing phenomenally! they are both walking and climbing onto the coffee table and mimicking words and signing a few words. i am so unbelievably proud of them. they are such wonderments.
