reflux update

had we listened to the doctor in pittsburgh, and not researched and questioned methods and medicines, miss lyncoln would have a nissen and a g-tube right now. instead, she is resting comfortably- having required no surgical intervention. surely, we would rather not have her on meds, but we think that this is the better alternative. she is on pepcid twice a day and prevacid twice a day. it took a bit to find the meds and dosage that worked for her, but thankfuly, gratefully, it seems that we have. we haven't even seen her silent reflux for a few days!

the same doctor, who thought that she didn't know how to eat, thus the g-tube, would be bewildered to know that she is eating like a champ. she never had an issue knowing how to eat- she WANTED to eat- it just hurt. so. badly. the hospital wanted her to eat 70 cc's of 26 cal formula every three hours (roughly 2 ounces and an extra swallow), however, she's showing them. now that she's feeling better, she is chowing down 3 whole ounces (90-100 cc's) PLUS the cereal thickener. she is keeping up with her younger, bigger sister!

life around here has been so much sweeter lately. we are still battling her hurty gas (that's what vitamins with iron, rice cereal and reflux meds will do to ya), but that is a walk in the park compared to the reflux pain and smurf episodes.

lynci is a tad over 9 lbs now and quinn is a bit over 11 lbs. they are both smiling and sitting in their bumbo chairs and working on acing tummy time.

they are awesome!
