we are home.
lynci was admitted to the nicu here on easter sunday and transferred to children's in pittsburgh the next day. she was supposed to come home on wed., may 4th,and then it was thursday, and then it was friday or saturday, and then it was 'definitely' saturday. wrong. being the drama princess that she is, she decided that she wanted to be admitted on a holiday and come home on a holiday. so, our fabulous mother's day surprise was lynci finally coming home on sunday. i packed the car up and almost checked out of the rmh twice, only to find out that they were keeping her 'one more day.'
the whole pittsburgh stay was a comedy of errors. from the 'one more day' episodes, to the messing up her formula ratios, to the dressing her in flashdance-style halter tops, to them sending us home with the incorrect recipe to make her 26 calorie formula. it. was. awful.
i know that i have NOTHING to complain about. the heartache that we saw there daily was overwhelming. the night before we left, i ran into a woman who was bringing her groceries in. she had been there two years with her little girl. two. years. i can't even begin to imagine. they are hopefully going home at the end of this month... after two years!
but now we are home. together again.
we are blessed.
I'm so glad your darling girl is home where she belongs, and hopefully she won't need any more trips to the hospital. I hope the med combination keeps working for her. Reflux hurts! (I know, I have it too.)
