today you are officially a year and a half years old! where does the time go?!?!
every single day i am enamored by who you are and who you are becoming. your sweet belly laugh is contagious. you. fear. NOTHING. this was painfully apparent tonight as you would climb on the couch, stand up and then throw yourself backwards and laugh hysterically. we had to put an end to that game, because even though you weren't afraid, you were very much scaring your mamas!
your vocabulary is blossoming. i keep telling myself that i need to begin a running record of your words... when asked what animals say, you respond with the correct sound for: snake, cow, horse, doggie, tiger and sometime pig. other words that you say frequently include:
more- mohw!!!
dog- dog-dog
pig- giggy-giggy
mama
shoe (you definitely have a shoe fetish!)
pizza- zeetza
foofa, toodee, muno, gabba gabba
goodnight- nigh-nigh
up
ball- baw
apple- a-POH
grandpa- pah-pah
outside- ou-sigh
baby- BEE-bee
snack- nack
banana- nanananana
bubbles- bubboos
again- a-gai
giddy up- gee-up!
cookie- coo-KEE
cake
cereal
i will have to add to this as i remember (or c reminds me ;-) )
you love being outside. you love to explore and discover. you are as happy in the water as you are in the woods as you are in the backyard. we love that you appreciate nature and will do whatever we need to do to nurture your love of the great outdoors!
you are really into books and cars. you will bring a book or twenty over to us, hand them over nicely and then plop down in our laps to peruse through each one. you also enjoy rolling cars over us while "vroom-vroom"ing and "beep-beep"ing. it's also pretty endearing when you pet our heads (we always do that to you and tell you how pretty/sweet/handsome/smart/etc. you are).
if i haven't mentioned it yet, you are a daredevil! you climb onto your climbing blocks and sometimes use them as sliding boards... or a running ramp. scary. you also move a block over to the edge of the couch, climb on top of it, hoist yourself onto the arm of the couch and then flip yourself over the arm. scary. thank goodness we have ingrained it into your brain to sit on our bottom to go down the stairs... and even that is scary.
perhaps one of the funniest things in the world is when you dance. you could be totally engrossed in playing or reading or coloring, and as soon as the music is cued, a HUGE smile spreads across your face and you begin dancing. your specialty is the legs spread apart, rocking back and forth move. i love you dearly, and it's so okay that you don't have any rhythm ;-) more recently you have somehow picked up the moonwalk. baffling. but hilarious.
you are perfectly who you are supposed to be... and for that i am eternally grateful.
happy 18 months, rhys oak. mohw!
