two years ago, we were faced with the very real possiblity that our girls may not make it. our doctor was tossing around scary and ugly terms, like viability and twin to twin transfusion syndrome. baby a (lyncoln) wasn't looking too good. she was tiny; more than 40% smaller than her sister. we were afraid. but we couldn't allow ourselves to give up hope. we wouldn't allow ourselves. our girls were strong. they were fighters.
when c was taken back to be prepped for delivery, our dear friend, julie sat with me. she held me up when i felt like i was crumbling, and she spoke her truth... her words got me through one of the scariest times in my life. she told me that she had a dream... that the following year, she and her lovely family would walk into claytopia, and we would be there, with rhys and BOTH girls in tow, healthy and happy.
today, on the first snowfall of the season, we celebrated julie's dream of love. of family. of hope.
and it was more beautiful than i could have ever imagined.
after all that our girls went through to be here with us, we weren't too concerned with their love of eating the paint ;)
