m.i.a.

i know that i haven't been blogging deliciously lately, but there is a good reason for that. i'm tired. while c is busy cookin' us up some beebees, i'm busy cookin' dinner, doing laundry, doing dishes, taking care of an almost-21-month-old, grocery shopping, regular shopping, taking out garbage, etc. of course, c is helping alot, but we really prefer her to rest as much as possible. she does get up in the a.m. with the chicken and she does tidy up like nobody's business, but the rest is up to me- all of the lifting and strenuous stuff is mine. all mine. yum!

this weekend went by entirely way too quickly. yesterday we had the carpets cleaned. it took the rest of the day yesterday, and a good portion of today, for them to dry adequately, so we were kind of stuck with what we could get accomplished in terms of cleaning the rest of the house up. the only real thing that we got done today was putting together our new entertainment stand and getting the flat screen attached to it. thank goodness the chicken napped for the entire 4 hours it took us to get the thing together.

speaking of the chicken, he is growing by leaps and bounds. he is fascinated by the moon and stars and sky. every single time we go outside he points to the sky and names all three. then he claps for himself. he continues to love books and yo gabba gabba and dinosaurs and cars. but he has also found a new love. elmo. the. kid. loves. elmo.

he is so funny. he associates people and places with things, and verbalizes it. for example, as we walk into wegmans, he exclaims, "coo-kie!" he knows that he is about to get a cookie from the bakery, and he wants to make sure that we know good and well that he knows it.

he has gotten proficient at asking for "help!" it is quite adorable as he pathetically looks at us as he utters his sweet little "hewp."

i love this kid. to the moon and stars and sky and back.
