happy fall, y'all!

it's no secret that autumn is my favorite season! i sent mr. chicken off to school with gourds to share with his class and a lunch of butternut squash soup, pumpkin bread and apples. after school/work today, we went out and bought him a few sweaters and took him pumpkin-choosing (not picking- the weather was dicey and it was getting late).

speaking of chicken's class, last week was his first full week in his new room. room changing always takes a bit of getting used to, and the hurdle is usually naptime. ugh. he is getting used to a new schedule in there (he is used to going down for his nap at noon, but in his new room, he goes down at one)... which means, that he is a crankasaurus chicken at home, who has been getting up at 5 a.m. poor c. she is a morning person, but 5 a.m. is a bit early. the good news is that we LOVE his new room. he seems to be adjusting well, and he loves that there is a slide in there :-)
when i picked chicken up from school today, his teacher informed me that he had been bitten. twice. as i was talking to c, i told her about it and she immediately started laughing and exclaimed, "well at least he wasn't the biter!"

on the twin front, at our sono last week, they were looking beautiful! they were measuring 13 weeks and 13 weeks 1 day, with heart rates of 148 and 151. we still aren't sure whether they are identical or fraternal- if there is only one placenta, they are identical, if there are two fused placentas, they are fraternal. one of our midwives is guessing that they are identical, but i am convinced that they are fraternal and that there is a boy and a girl in there ;-) time will tell :-)
