tubes

today chicken had tubes put in his wittle ears. we had to be at the surgery center by 6:15 a.m. (!!!), so we got up around 5:30 (!!!), got ready, shovelled ourselves to the car, and off we went. we checked in, got called back around 6:30-ish, got him weighed in and changed, spoke to the anesthesiologist, watched him get his "silly juice" at 7:10, and at 7:35 they carried him back. c shed a few tears, and we were escorted to conference room 2 to wait for the dr. to complete the procedure and come and talk to us..

this allergy alert bracelet is delicious... especially since i am STARVING!!!

at 7:42, he came in, told us that there was alot of fluid in one of his ears, and that he did wonderfully. less than 7 minutes. the whole thing took less than 7 minutes.

we were then shuffled off to the waiting room to await being buzzed into the recovery room. that took about 10 minutes. we went back to a nurse feeding a droopy-looking chicken some apple juice. c sat in the recliner and finished giving him his bottle. the nurse explained his follow-up care, gave him a surgery center t-shirt, and off we went. we were home and napping by 8:30!


he is now a bit grumpy, but that's to be expected. now we are just hoping that this helps his sleeping situation, because his mamas really really miss sleep :-)
