apple fest!!!

a few days ago i came across an ad for a "huge" consignment sale that promised nearly new items for our purchasing pleasure... it was about an hour away, but they were having teacher appreciation night on friday, which allowed teachers to have first dibs on all of the glorious treasures, so, we went. and then we left. rather quickly. we did pick up a few items, but we were confused. the toys were slim pickin's, and what they did have was dirty and broken. same with the clothes- stains and odors were ever-so-present. we decided to hit up a store down the road for mittens for mr. chicken and hopefully some new bibs. we did find him and c some hats and mittens, but pullover bibs were nowhere to be found. ebay, here i come.

afterwards, we hit up a dunkin' donuts to see what all the fuss was about. we are still clueless about that... i got a french cruller, and i swear that it was covered in wax. this may be too much information, but i could actually scrape the waxy substance from the roof of my mouth. dunkin' donuts ain't got nothin' on tim horton's!

today we went to apple fest in franklin. ever since c and i met 4 years ago, she has been talking about apple fest. this was our year to go! we loaded the car up, grabbed our friend, tim, and off we went. there were vendors galore! at first i didn't think that we were going to get through it all before it rained, but we did! i wish that we would have got some fruits and veggies from the farmer's market there, but the delicacies that we ate were scrumptious! even mr. chicken seemed to enjoy the apple dumpling :-) we purchased a small fortune worth of tie dyes for the boy, and called it a day... and what a lovely day it was!
