i love christmas. like
really love christmas. i would keep my tree up all year long if c would let me. growing up, my family would always decorate after thanksgiving, and put the tree up on my dad's (grandfather's) birthday, december 19th. i always wanted them to put the tree up sooner, but tradition was tradition, and it didn't go up until his birthday.
when i moved out, i think that i waited until right after thanksgiving to decorate, tree included. after c and i got together, we followed the same timeline... more or less. until now. one of c's big events requires her to work A LOT during thanksgiving week, thus putting a damper on our holiday decorationing... so, now we begin decorating the week before she gets really busy at work... which means now... so, this past weekend, we, meaning she, hung the lights on the house, and we all began decorating the house. the trees will probably go up now that the kids are in bed, and we will decorate them this week after dinner... this year we will be putting up 6 trees- our big living room tree, my favorite family room pencil tree, a tree in each child's room, and a 3 foot tree in the dining room. i am so excited!

| the last time this advent calendar was changed was on 12/10/10- the night before the girls were born... we haven't touched it since. |

we also hung the stockings and began decorating the kid's bedrooms and bathrooms, but i didn't get photos of those... yet.
the weeks to come are filled with lots of tradition and spirit- the festival of the trees, claytopia, whoville, asbury woods, the girls' 5th birthday (whaaaattt?!!?), etc. i. love. christmas!!!
