yesterday we paid our annual visit to claytopia, to create holiday masterpieces. the kids were extremely cooperative... so much so, that lu, when asked to help clean up, tried to wipe off the paint from the platter that I worked so very hard on. sigh. but they had a grand time... and so did we!
over the past few weeks, we have transitioned from 'it's the great pumpkin, charlie brown', to holiday classics, in an attempt to prep the dynamic duo for their visit with the big man himself. as we were driving to the mall, they were all gung ho... but then we actually arrived. by this time, they weren't so sure, so, as brother got a haircut, we played in the play area for a bit, talked santa up, and then made our way to our photo op. as other kids went and sat on his lap, we waved to santa and praised how well those other kids did. then it was our turn. rhys and quinn marched right up, while I carried lu. that was a huge step! santa, however, rushed this very fragile meeting by scooping quinn up onto his lap... instant tears.... but, they were short lived as we talked about the promise of candy and coloring books! lu sat on his lap, and, after a bit of coaxing, even smiled, as she told santa that she wanted some chocolate candy for christmas.
today, we were scheduled to get the girls' 3-year!!! pics and rhys' 5-year!!! pics, but, as you can see, lu busted up her face, from breaking q's fall down the steps. what a good big sister she is
